How to use the platform
The platform helps sales teams use ABB product knowledge, price lists, accessories, recommendations and quotes in one guided workflow. Prices, article numbers and MOQs come from the loaded price list; product knowledge is built from saved ABB product, website and download metadata.
Log in with the ABB SSO simulation and open role-based functions.
Search products, review details and refresh saved ABB knowledge.
Describe the customer requirement and receive suitable product recommendations.
Turn a recommendation into a quote, review it and export it.
Access starts through the ABB SSO simulation.
- Select a user
Use a Sales, Manager, Product Manager or Admin account depending on the task. - Check the role
Sales users see the sales workflow. Managers also see approvals and audit. Admin and Product Manager users see governance functions.
Use the Knowledge Base
Review products, prices, accessories and saved ABB knowledge.
- Search for a product
Search by material number, product name, EAN, E-No., product family or application. - Read the detail panel
Check list price, MOQ, source status, scope and saved ABB document and fact records. - Refresh ABB knowledge
If no records are visible, the platform automatically checks for knowledge when a product is opened. Use Update ABB knowledge to trigger a manual refresh. - Open accessories
Related products and accessories are linked internally. A click opens the corresponding product directly in the Knowledge Base when it exists in the catalog.
Data Sources & Benefits
How the knowledge base is built and why it matters for ABB Sales.
The platform uses the loaded ABB price list as the structured basis for material numbers, product names, EAN, E-No., units, MOQs and list prices. Quotes are therefore created from controlled catalog data, not from free text.
The knowledge base automatically reads product information from ABB product pages and stores available content from download areas, such as data sheets, installation instructions, application notes, certificates, declarations and engineering data. The Sales Agent uses these saved backend facts for answers and recommendations.
A reliable split of all products into ABB divisions was not possible in this prototype because the required information is not publicly and unambiguously available for every product. In a production version, this mapping should come from internal ABB master data, SAP/ERP, PLM or an approved portfolio mapping.
Sales teams save research time, find suitable products and accessories faster, reduce manual pricing errors and receive traceable reasons for recommendations. Prices, MOQs, discounts, approvals and exports remain controlled through rules and the audit trail.
Use the Sales Agent
The agent combines customer requirements, product knowledge and pricing rules.
- Describe the customer requirement
Describe the application, voltage/load, quantity, country and special constraints as precisely as possible. - Answer follow-up questions
If technical information is missing, the agent asks targeted follow-up questions before creating a reliable quote. - Review the recommendation
Check the product, confidence, reasoning, saved ABB facts and pricing basis. The agent must not invent prices or article numbers.
Create a Quote
Recommended or manually selected products become a structured quote.
